Bangladesh cabinet approves policy to feed 15 mln school children

DHAKA, Aug. 19 (NsNewsWire) — Bangladesh’s cabinet approved a proposal on Monday to feed 15 million children under a countrywide primary school meal program, reports Xinhua.
   After the cabinet meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair, spokesman Mohammad Shafiul Alam told reporters that the cabinet gave its approval to the “National School Meal Policy 2019.” 
   Under the program, students will get balanced meal five days a week and fortified biscuits every day. 
   He said the meal program was aimed at boosting the nutritional needs of the children to improve attendance rates in rural areas.  Enditem
