Chinese language proficiency competition for secondary school students held in Bangladesh

DHAKA, Aug.  3 (NsNewsWire) — A Chinese Proficiency competition for secondary school was held in Bangladesh on Tuesday.

A total of 90 students applied to attend the competition from a number of institutions including Bangladesh’s top Dhaka University and North-South University, reports Xinhua.

Fifteen of the applicants were selected through initial processes to join the competition.

All the 15 constants were awarded prizes and certificates.

The Chinese embassy here conducted the contest in order to select two youngsters to represent Bangladesh at the Chinese Bridge competition to be held in Beijing later this year.

A Chinese embassy official said name of the top two youngsters who will visit China to represent Bangladesh will be announced later after completing all other relevant formalities which are part of the competition.

The contestants competed in three segments featuring free speeches, Q&As, and artistic performances.

The Chinese Bridge is an international Chinese culture and language proficiency program where Chinese language and culture students from institutions worldwide compete in various categories.
