Citibank NA Pays Tribute to Runa Laila A Legend & Pride of Bangladesh Music

DHAKA, Nov. 6 (NsNewsWire) — Citibank, N.A., Bangladesh has organized its annual “Gaane Gaane Gunijon Songbordhona” program at Radisson Blu Water Garden Hotel, Dhaka to celebrate the lifetime contributions of renowned artist Runa Laila.  Eminent Singer Ferdausi Rahman and Music Director Emon Saha  spoke about the acclaimed artist’s celebrated musical career.  Salehuddin Ahmed, Former Governor of Bangladesh Bank, and Rashed Maqsood, Citi Country Officer for Bangladesh, presented Laila with an honorary crest, self-portrait and a cheque for her outstanding contributions to enriching the cultural heritage of Bangladesh.

Runa Laila began her musical journey at a young age and recently completed 50 years of her musical career. Some of her Bengali songs have stood the test of time and are very popular among listeners. To pay homage to Runa Laila, artist Konal graced the stage to regale the audience of regulators, artists, stakeholders and Citi clients with an outstanding performance of some timeless classics of the Gunijon.
