Grameenphone 3G launched in Barisal
DHAKA, Dec. 24 (NsNewsWire) — Grameenphone launches 3G for its customers in Barisal on commercial basis (today) Tuesday with colorful programs.
The inauguration program was held at Grameenphone Regional Office with presence of senior government officials and local dignitaries. The guests were given live experience of different services of 3G. Md. Ahsan Habib Kamal, Mayor, Barisal City Corporation was the chief guest of the inaugural session. A M Sazzad Hossain, Regional Head and Nandan Kumar Saha, Technology Region Head of Grameenphone were present on the occasion.
Following areas of Barisal City and its outskirts are under 3G coverage now: Kashipur Bus Stand, Boiddyopara, Natullah Badh Bus Stand, Sinha Road Kawnia, Gorosthan Road, Kirod Mukharjee Lane, Nazir Market, Shahapara, Circuit House, Police line, Launch Ghat, Medical College, Stadium, Amtola Bus Stop, Rupatoli Bus Stand and Barisal Cadet College.
From now on customers within the coverage areas will be able to use 3G packages of Grameenphone. There are four packages under 512 kbps speed tier, starting with 75mb Starter pack for BDT 50(+VAT). The 2GB standard monthly plan costs BDT 400 (+VAT). There is a Smart Plan for Smartphone users comprising unlimited data (Fair Usage policy after 1.5GB), Voice minutes, SMS and MMS at BDT 800 (+VAT) and for the heavy users’ unlimited monthly plan (Fair Usage policy after 8GB) at BDT 950 (+VAT).
In the 1 mbps tier there are three packages, starting with 2GB standard monthly plan at BDT 700 (+VAT). There is a Smart Plan for Smartphone users comprising unlimited data (Fair Usage policy after 1.5GB), Voice minutes, SMS and MMS at BDT 1100 (+VAT) and for the heavy users’ unlimited monthly plan (Fair Usage policy after 8GB) at BDT 1250 (+VAT).
A Video Call to other 3G enabled GP number will cost BDT 1.20/minute with 10 second pulse. Video calls to other operators will be possible in the future.
