Pakistan FM sends “message of friendship” to Bangladesh

Pakistani Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has written a letter to his Bangladeshi counterpart AK Abdul Momen, looking forward to working with Dhaka in the spirit of “friendship”.

In his letter, the Pakistani foreign minister noted that Pakistan and Bangladesh are bound by ties of shared history, common faith, values and traditions.

The newly elected foreign minister made these remarks in response to the felicitation message by Foreign Minister A K Abdul Momen.

The following is the full and unedited text of the message which High Commission of Pakistan here sent Thursday:

“Excellency

I wish to thank you for your felicitation message on my appointment as the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

Pakistan and Bangladesh are bound by ties of shared history, common faith, values and traditions. Our bilateral relations have a bright future.

I look forward to working with you in the spirit of friendship and understanding with a view to further consolidating Pakistan-Bangladesh relations to the mutual benefit of our peoples.

Let me avail myself of this opportunity to wish, Your Excellency, a happy Eid-ul-Fitr.
