Robi launches first-ever online photography school

DHAKA, Nov. 13 (Robi Press Release) —  Robi Axiata Limited is launching the very first online photography school on the Robi Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/RobiFanz) from today (14 November 2013).

The campaign, titled “RobiPhotoSchool,” is being run in association with eminent photographer and founder of Drik Gallery, Shahidul Alam.

The completely online campaign will comprise of short video tutorials by Shahidul Alam offering tricks and tips on photography.

Each video will have a separate theme e.g. Portrait, Street photography, Daily life, Landscape, etc.

Following each video on the Robi Facebook page, Robi Facebook fans will be invited to upload their own photos taken using the technique taught, in the comment section.

The photos will be transferred into an application through which participants can gather votes.

Expressing his excitement over this tie-up with Drik Gallery and Mr. Shahidul Alam, Robi Chief Marketing Officer, Pradeep Shrivastava, said that he expected to see rush of images through this completely online campaign. “The youth in our country are tech-savvy and using technology to express themselves like no other generation before them. The power of the internet and the power of imagination collide to good effect through this campaign.” he added.

The first prize is a 1-year scholarship at Pathshala (Drik Gallery), however, this prize will be based on judge’s choice rather than the most votes’. The other two prizes are Canon EOS 60D camera and a Canon EOS 600D camera, which will be given based on popular choice.

At the end of the campaign, the photographs will be displayed at a special exhibition at Drik Gallery in Dhanmondi.
