SA apparel accessories maker ITL inks JV in Bangladesh

DHAKA, Jan. 17 (NsNewsWire) — Global supplier of apparel labeling solutions ITL Group (ITL) said it has inked a joint venture with Codes and Labels Ltd, a privately owned Bangladesh supplier of labels, packaging and trims.

Under the terms of the agreement, the Codes and Labels operations will be absorbed into the newly established, ITL Bangladesh, further expanding ITL Group’s global operations, reports http://www.fibre2fashion.com.

ITL is owned by South African based SA Bias Industries Group and produces a full range of apparel label solutions including permanent branding, variable data and intelligent labeling solutions.

The company has manufacturing facilities in China, Sri Lanka, India, Turkey, Mexico and South Africa, as well as offices in Canada, the US, UK and Hong Kong.

ITL supports many of the world’s best known apparel retailers, brands and manufacturers and recently announced plans to expand operations into Vietnam in early 2015.

On the other hand, Codes and Labels too manufacturers a wide range of apparel labels and packaging including printed fabric labels, graphics tags, woven labels, variable data labels and polybags.

ITL’s CEO Fred Christopher said, “With many retailers making long term sourcing commitments to Bangladesh, we decided that this was the right time to enter this important region.”

“Codes and Labels has built up a reputation within the Bangladesh market with a wide customer base and as such, they are a perfect match for our business,” he added.

“As our customers’ demands for more supply chain transparency and corporate compliance rises, it is time for us to embrace the benefits offered by a larger global organisation,” Codes & Labels MD, Monir Khan said.

He too added, “The joint venture with ITL, who have a fantastic portfolio of added value services and clients, will only enhance our progress and ensure that we maintain our advantage in the market.” (AR)
