China-Bangladesh Wushu demonstration celebrates 70th PRC founding anniversary

The 3rd Ambassador Cup China-Bangladesh Wushu Demonstration was held in Bangladesh’s capital Dhaka Saturday with hundreds of athletes competing in different types of the martial arts.
   Mohammad Dulal Hossain, general secretary of Bangladesh Wushu Federation, said this year’s demonstration is something very special as it marked the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
   “We’re celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China through this mega Wushu event of the year in Bangladesh,” he said.
   Participating teams from across Bangladesh demonstrated their skills in the event which is now considered one of the popular sports in the country.
   Wushu was introduced to Bangladesh in 1990 and officially recognized by the government in September 2007 with the support of International Wushu Federation.
   Bangladesh Wushu Association organized the event under the sponsorship of Chinese embassy in Dhaka.
   Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Li Jiming and Bangladeshi Parliament Member Abdus Sobhan Golap, also president of Bangladesh Wushu Federation, among others, witnessed the event.  Enditem
