Ambassador Yao Wen Charts Path for China-Bangladesh Relations

On October 29, Ambassador Yao Wen addressed seminar “China–Bangladesh Relations: Way Forward” hosted by the Association of Former Ambassadors (AOFA). The President of AOFA, Ambassador Abdullah Al-Hasan, the General Secretary of AOFA, Ambassador AFM Gousal Azam Sarker, the former Foreign Secretary, Ambassador Farooq Sobhan and the former Foreign Secretary, Ambassador Shamsher Choudhury as well as dozens of senior former ambassadors attended the event.
Ambassador Yao emphasized that political mutual trust, practical cooperation and people-to-people ties are the driving forces behind the steady growth of China–Bangladesh relations. China stands ready to work together with Bangladesh, taking the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties as a new starting point, to jointly explore a path to modernization that suits our national conditions and aligns with the trend of the times.
Ambassador Yao also introduced key outcomes of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, which adopted the proposals for the 15th Five-Year Plan, a grand blueprint for China’s economic and social development over the next five years, illustrating China’s vision of win-win cooperation with the world.
Drawing on China’s governance experience, Ambassador Yao shared insights into the “success code” of the century-old CPC, including its spirit of self-reform, strict implementation of the Eight-Point Rules and the practice of whole-process people’s democracy.
Participants at the seminar commended China’s remarkable achievements in economic and social development under the leadership of the CPC. They expressed strong expectations for further deepening mutual trust and strengthening cooperation between Bangladesh and China to better serve the well-being of the two peoples.
Ambassador Yao also had in-depth discussions with the Bangladeshi side on further deepening China–Bangladesh friendship and cooperation under the new circumstances.
