Tank lorry, passenger vehicle collision kills at least 8 in Bangladesh

DHAKA, Dec. 15 (NsNewsWire) — collision between a tank lorry and a three-wheeler passenger vehicle on Tuesday morning in Bangladesh’s Sirajganj district, some 134 km northwest of capital Dhaka, left at least eight people dead and more than 10 others injured, local police said, reports Xinhua.

“At least five passengers were killed on the spot and over 13 sustained injuries in the head-on collision between the tank lorry and the passenger vehicle,” Mohammad Abul Hasnat, an assistant superintendent Sirajganj Police, told Xinhua over phone.

“Three more passengers succumbed to their injuries on the way to the hospital,” he said.

The accident occurred at about 6:00 a.m. (local time) when a tank lorry collided head on with the locally made three-wheeler passenger vehicle, he added.
