Robi observes World Thalassemia Day

DHAKA, May 10 (NsNewsWire) — Robi, as part of its Corporate Responsibility initiative has observed ‘World Thalassemia Day’ on May 8, 2016 by organizing a blood donation camp and awareness session on Thalassemia at its corporate office.

Thalassemia is an inherited blood disorder that causes excessive destruction of red blood cells, leading to anemia. In its serious form, patients require regular blood transfusion. Robi in partnership with Bangladesh Thalassemia Foundation made the Robi officials aware of the perils

of Thalassemia with a detailed account of the disease. Robi officials also donated their blood for the patients suffering with Thalassemia at the blood donation camp.
