Chinese embassy in Bangladesh organizes workshop to explore more areas for cooperation

DHAKA, May 9 (NsNewsWire) —  Chinese embassy in Dhaka has organized a workshop to explore more areas for greater cooperation with Bangladesh, particularly in areas of developing human resources and exchanging technical expertise.
The workshop also aimed at enhancing the level of sustainable development and capacity building in Bangladesh and achieving  the goal of mutual benefits and win-win results.
From a large pool of the Bangladeshi government officials who visited China over the last one year, some senior officials have been invited to the workshop to share their experiences about various Bangladesh and China development activities.
Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Ma Mingqian, Mohammad Asif-uz-Zaman, additional secretary of Bangladesh External Resources Division and Li Guangjun, Economic and Commercial counsellor at the Chinese embassy in Dhaka, among others, spoke at the workshop which was also attended by representatives of Chinese companies in Bangladesh.                                                                                                                                                                                                     The workshop was held at the Le Méridien Dhaka, the second Starwood managed hotel in Bangladesh capital, on April 28.
“The experience we have gathered over the 30/40 years is that human resources is the core element for development,”said Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Ma Mingqiang.
He said China is now in a position to share its experience to support the developing countries around the world.
“We’re keenly interested to share our experiences with friends.”
Speaking at the workshop, Mohammad Asif-uz-Zaman, additional secretary of Bangladesh’s Economic Relations Division, stressed the need for more collaboration between China and Bangladesh to gain for development experiences from China.
He highly appreciated the Chinese organizing the workshop terming it a time befitting initiative.
Hundreds of Bangladeshis over the last years visited China to learn knowledge and gather Chinese development experiences, he said.
“We feel that there should be now a kind of alumni association of those visited China from Bangladesh so that they can share their experiences with each other.”
He, however, discussed specially about the Bangladeshi government’s development initiatives and special economic zones to woo more foreign investment.
In his welcome address at the outset of the workshop, Li Guangjun, Economic and Commercial counsellor at the Chinese embassy in Dhaka, said the workshop is just a beginning of this kind of program.
He expressed the hope that the workshop will help for more future cooperation between China and Bangladesh.
