Bangladesh clinches 1st ever test draw vs Pakistan

KHILNA, MAY 2 (NsNewsWire) — Opener Tamim Iqbal hit 206 to lead Bangladesh to its first ever test draw against rival Pakistan on Saturday.

The hosts finished the day on 555-6, in reply to Pakistan’s massive first innings of 628, reports INDIA Tv.

Pakistan had led Bangladesh 8-0 in past test matches.

Tamim helped Bangladesh to its highest second innings total in tests. With Bangladesh leading by 259, the teams agreed a draw 25 minutes before the scheduled end.

Shakib Al Hasan was undefeated on 76.

Imrul Kayes, who was involved in Bangladesh’s record opening stand of 312 with Tamim, made 150.

Off-spinner Mohammad Hafeez (2-82) and quick Junaid Khan (2-88) were Pakistan’s most effective bowlers.

Pakistan led by 296 after the first innings, with Bangladesh all out for 332.
