Bangladesh completes series whitewash over Zimbabwe

DHAKA, Nov. 12 (NsNewsWire) — Bangladesh completed a 3-0 ODI series whitewash over Zimbabwe by winning the final game at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka on Wednesday night by 61 runs, reports Xinhua.

Bangladesh clinched a 58-run victory over Zimbabwe in the second of the three-match ODI cricket series on Monday.

The hosts also defeated the visitors in the 1st match on Sunday night by a 145-run.

Chasing 277 runs for victory, Zimbabwe folded up for 215 runs in 43.3 overs in the final game on Wednesday.

Zimbabwe’s SC Williams scored highest 64 runs while E Chigumbura made 45 runs.

Bangladesh’s Mustafizur Rahman took five wickets to steer his side to the comfortable victory.

Rahman was adjudged man of the match.

The rest of the Bangladesh bowlers took a wicket each.

Earlier in the day, Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Mortaza won the toss and decided to bat.

Batting first, the hosts scored 276 runs in their allocated 50 overs losing nine wickets.

Imrul Kayes, Mahmudullah and Tamim Iqbal contributed 73 runs, 52 runs and 73 runs respectively.

LM Jongwe and AG Cremer grabbed two wickets each but their efforts were not enough to refrain Bangladesh from making a heft target of runs for Zimbabwe.
