Bangladesh cricket star Shakib’s ban lifted‏

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Tuesday reduced the suspension of all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan by over three and a half months, paving the way for his return to the cricket from next month.

BCB President Nazmul Hasan told journalists that Shakib Al Hasan could play international and domestic cricket matches from Sept. 15.

BCB has taken the decision in the wake of Shakib’s appeal against the suspension.

Shakib appealed against the suspension weeks after he was handed a six-month ban for breach of code of conduct on July 7.

In his appeal Shakib has also apologized for his behavior.

BCB castigated Shakib in the wake of huge furor over not taking a No Objection Certificate (NOC) by him to play in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) combined with his alleged threat to quit the national team following an argument with head coach Chandika Hathurusingha who asked him to join the national camp.

The 27-year-old had also denied that he left Dhaka to play in the CPL without taking the NOC from the BCB and said that he was given the verbal permission to play in the CPL. Enditem
