Bangladesh earns nearly 4 bln USD in exports in July
DHAKA, Aug. 20 (NsNewsWire) — Bangladesh’s exports in the first month of the current 2019-20 fiscal year ending next June surged 8.55 percent to nearly 4 billion U.S. dollars, an official said Tuesday.
The Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) official told Xinhua that export performance for July was 3.88 billion U.S. dollars, reports Xinhua.
Of the total earnings, he said the country’s income from ready-made garment items, including knitwear and woven, stood at 3.31 billion U.S. dollars.
The EPB data showed knitwear garment export grew 9.89 percent to 1.68 billion U.S. dollars while woven garments increased 9.51 percent to 1.63 billion U.S. dollars, comparing with the same period of last fiscal year.
It showed Bangladesh’s export income in the past 2018-19 reached 40.54 billion U.S. dollars.
Bangladesh set its export target in 2019-20 fiscal year at 45.50 billion U.S. dollars, including 38.20 billion U.S. dollars from ready-made garment products, the EPB data showed. Enditem
