Bangladesh Red Crescent gets Chinese donation for post-flood recovery

On July 22, the handover ceremony of the cash donation from the Red Cross Society of China for flood relief in Bangladesh was held at the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS).
H.E. Ambassador Yao Wen attended and delivered remarks, said an embassy statement.
Also present were Mr. Chairman Mohammed Abdul Salam and Mr. Vice Chairman Mohammed Rafiqul Kabir of BDRCS.
Ambassador Yao stated that China firmly supports Bangladesh’s efforts to improve people’s livelihoods and social development, and stands with the Bangladeshi government and people in times of need. This assistance is a concrete step to implement the consensus on strengthening cooperation in disaster prevention and reduction, reflecting the firm resolve of both countries to build a China-Bangladesh community with a shared future in the new era.
Chairman Salam expressed sincere gratitude for China’s generous assistance and highly commended the genuine friendship of mutual support between the two nations. As Bangladesh is currently in the monsoon season, this donation will play an important role in post‑disaster reconstruction. Enditem
