Bangladesh minister denies any instruction to block Twitter, Skype, imo

skypeDHAKA, Dec. 14 (NsNewsWire) — Bangladeshi Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal  Monday afternoon said his ministry has not issued any insurrection to block three online voice and messaging services.

Kamal passed the remarks as authorities blocked Twitter, Skype, imo on Sunday night days after unblocking Facebook.

Sources said  telecom regulator — BTRC-  on Sunday night instructed all relevant telecom service providers to block the popular services immediately.

BTRC on Nov. 18 blocked Facebook, WhatsApp and Viber for security reason shortly after the country’s apex court delivered verdicts upholding the death penalties of two influential opposition leaders — criminals Salauddin Quader Chowdhury and Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mojaheed — for war crimes in 1971.
