Bangladesh’s July-November export rises 6.71 pct

DHAKA, Dec.  7 (Xinhua) — Bangladesh’s export earning in the first five months of the current 2015-16 fiscal year (July 2015-June 2016) grew 6.71 percent year-on-year to nearly 13 billion U.S. dollars, reports Xinhua.
“Export performance for July -November was 12,879.83 million U. S. dollars, 6.71 percent higher than that in the same period a year ago,” the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) official told Xinhua.
Of total earnings, the country’s income from ready-made garment items, including knitwear and woven, stood at 10.46 billion U.S. dollars during July-November period of the current fiscal year.
He said export performance for November was 2.75 billion U.S. dollars, 13.73 percent higher than that in the same month a year ago.
Bangladesh export income in the 2014-15 fiscal year (July 2014- June 2015) grew at a moderate rate of over 6 percent to 31.21 billion U.S. dollars.
The country set its export target in 2015-16 fiscal year at 33. 50 billion U.S. dollars, including 27.37 billion U.S. dollars from readymade garment products. Enditem
