Bharti Airtel’s Head of IT Leaves Following Rumours of Malpractice

Bharti Airtel’s Chief Information Officer Jai Menon has left the company amid rumours of a conflict of interest over some of the IT contracts he awarded to companies he owned stakes in.

Bharti Airtel has confirmed that their CIO has resigned from the company, but declined to elaborate further.

There are numerous local media reports suggesting that he was sacked for violating the company’s code of conduct in how contracts were awarded. It has been claimed that some of the companies awarded contracts were ones that Menon had a financial interest in.

However, he denies the claims, and says that the apparently sudden departure was a long planned event based on a decision to leave the company when he turned 50.

“All other rumours are speculative and baseless.” Menon said. Source: Cellur News
