BJP chief clears the air on making phone-call to Bangladeshi ex-PM

DHAKA, Jan. 11 (NsNewsWire) — Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Chief Amit Shah has cleared the air on making a telephone call to Bangladeshi-ex-Prime Minister Khaleda Zia.

“No, no, no …. This is a fake news. I have no any contact outside,” Shah was quoted as saying by Bangladeshi private television channel Ekattor while he replied to a question over mobile phone whether he made a phone call to Khaleda Zia, also Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) chairperson.

The channel broadcasts the brief mobile phone conversations between its correspondent and BJP chief.

A controversy has erupted in Bangladesh after BNP chief’s Press Secretary Maruf Kamal Khan at a press briefing on Thursday said Shah made a phone call to the ex-premier Khaleda Zia on Wednesday night and talked with her for about 10 minutes.
