Chinese embassy in Dhaka marks PLA’s 99th founding anniversary

The Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh has held a reception to celebrate the 99th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA). Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen, Defence Advisor to the Prime Minister of Bangladesh Brigadier General AKM Shamsul Islam, Advisor to the Prime Minister of Bangladesh Mr. Md Ismail Zabiullah, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan, along with nearly 300 dignitaries including military and government officials and friendly personages attended the event on July 29, a Chinese statement said.

In his speech, Defence Attaché Senior Colonel Du Xinsheng stated that under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, the PLA unswervingly pursues the path of building a strong military with Chinese characteristics, providing powerful support for safeguarding national sovereignty, security, and development interests, as well as maintaining regional and world peace. He emphasized that China adheres to a good-neighborly and friendly policy oriented toward all the people of Bangladesh and is actively committed to building a China-Bangladesh community with a shared future in the new era. China is willing to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Bangladesh in defence and other fields.
In his remarks, Defence Advisor AKM Shamsul Islam highly praised the achievements of the PLA’s modernization and the traditional friendship between China and Bangladesh, expressing gratitude for China’s support and assistance toward Bangladesh’s defence development.
The guests spoke highly of the accomplishments in the building of the Chinese armed forces and wished for the construction of a China-Bangladesh community with a shared future in the new era to reach a higher level.
