Chinese National Day celebrated

Hundreds of local and foreign dignitaries have gathered at a ceremony in capital Dhaka to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
Bangladesh Shammobadi Dal, an ally of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s Bangladesh Awami League-led Grand Alliance, organized the ceremony at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel on Thursday.
The guests wished China’s continuous development, stability and prosperity and long lasting friendship between China and Bangladesh. They, however, extended warmest felicitations to the Chinese government and people of China.
In his welcome speech, Bangladesh Shammobadi Dal General Secretary Dilip Barua said
“I sincerely believe that through this discussion and excellent gathering , the long-established bond of friendship and cooperation between Bangladesh and China and party-to-party will gain further peace the future,” said Barua also a former Industries minister.
Taking experience from the past, he said, Comrade Deng Xiao Ping had introduced economic reform in the third plenary session of the 11th party congress of the CPC in 1978.
“Afterwords, the world has experienced the modern China, the number one economic giant of the world, in peaceful way within in the span of decades.”
Charge d’ Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Dhaka Qu Guangzhou hailed the Chinese- Bangladesh relations, pledging to continue efforts to further promote bilateral ties and friendship between the two countries.
He said China requires lasting peace and stability in the international environment.
“We unswervingly stick to the path of development and commit ourselves to develop amicable relations and partnerships with our neighbors within the framework of neighborhood diplomacy, which means amity, sincerity,mutual benefit and inclusiveness.”
In this context, China proposed Economic belt along Maritime silk road of 21st century.
So far many countries have expressed strong interest and indicated readiness to work with China on “One Belt and One Road”.
“In fact, initiative of One Belt One Road is not a business for just China, it is a cause shared by all of us.”
Speaking as chief guest, Bangladeshi Agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury said hailed the achievements of the Chinese people over the last 65 years, particularly during their 35 years of reform.
Chowdhury, also a presidium member of Hasina’s ruling AL party, expressed her government’s keenness to join China’s efforts to consolidate their traditional friendship, increase mutual trust and understanding, and further promote the comprehensive strategic partnership between Bangladesh and China, contributing to regional and global peace, stability and development.
She extended warmest felicitations and best wishes to the Chinese leader, to the government and people of China.
“We’re glad to know China’s emergence as the world’s largest economy only within 65 years of its founding.We’re also happy because China managed to fulfilled aspirations of her people.”
Congratulating Chinese people and its leadership on their achievements over the past 65 years, Bangladeshi Information Minister Hasanul Haque Innu commemorated soldiers of Red Army who sacrificed their lives fighting against imperialists and invaders.
He said Mao showed China the path of development after saying goodbye to colonialism and imperialism.
“I hope and boldly declare Tibet and Taiwan are integral part of China. I stand by the One China Policy on behalf of my party and our government,” said Inu, also president of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD), a political party.
“The inequalities of globalization can be addressed through strengthening relations among China and other countries including Bangladesh,” he added.
Echoing a similar view, Bangladeshi Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon said China and Russia are contributing to global peace and stability.
He highly appreciated China’s support for his country’s economic development over the years.
Referring to unpleasant incidents in Xingjian and Hongkong, he said, “We stand by China in its bid to combat fundamental forces.” Enditem
