CTO Forum Innovation Hackathon startsOnline

A 48 hours long Hackathon titled “CTO Forum Innovation Hackathon-2020”kicked off today with an opening ceremony which took place online due to thecurrent pandemic situation. The Hackathon will run till 7:00 pm of 26 December,2020.Mr. Shyam Sunder Sikder, Chairman of Bangladesh TelecommunicationRegulatory Commission joined as chief guest and Mr. Md. Nazrul Islam Khan,Curator at Bangabandhu Memorial Museum (former secretary of ICT Division)attended the inauguration ceremony as special guest. Mr. Tapan Kanti Sarkar, Founder president of Bangladesh CTO Forum provided the welcome speech at thebeginning of the ceremony.He told in his speech that in its ‘Strategic Initiatives – 2020 and Beyond’,CTOFB has initiated a number of nationwide initiatives. As a part of thesestrategic initiatives and in view of fast-tracked technology transformation, CTOFBlaunched a focused strategic innovation center namely ‘CTO Forum BangladeshInnovation Center’ which was inaugurated on the 15th October, 2020 by theHonourable State Minister, ICT Division, Ministry of Posts, Telecommunicationsand IT Mr. Zunaid Ahmed Palak MP. In alignment to the strategic objectives ofCTO Forum Innovation Center, this 48 hours long Hackathon is being organized incollaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS).The chief guest Mr. Shyam Sunder Sikder highly appreciated such timelyinitiative by CTO Forum Bangladesh. Referring to the demographic dividend hementioned that 65 percent of the population belongs to the youth age whichbrings fantastic opportunities to us. He also told that achievements of DigitalBangladesh came through the hands of youth generation. He wished his best tothe participants and officially announced the beginning of the competition.Special guest Mr. Nazrul Islam Khan said that the old must leave their placefor the new generation. He hoped that the upcoming professionals will be morecapable and skilled than the current professionals and they will become the bestin the world to bring glory to the country.The chief judge of the Hackathon, Mr. Mohammad Mahdee Uz Zaman,Solution Architect at Amazon USA expressed his trust and faith to the youthssaying that they are the one who can learn and adopt the rapidly changing technologies. He emphasized on continuous learning and implementation of thatlearning for the betterment of the nation.Mr. Md. Abdullah Al Mamoon, DMD of United Commercial Bank deliveredhis speech as the convener of the arrangement. He explained that the hackathonis being conducted on three challenges. Challenge 1 is building a VirtualAssistance prototype that will be providing support direct to end-user. Each teammust select one challenge for the team. Challenge 2 is to automate a process,which is cumbersome and complex; and would require minimal humanintervention. Whereas challenge 3 invites to bring innovative ideas and thoughtsleveraging the benefits of AWS Server-less technologies to build an application ofchoice, which is innovative and end-to-end solution. Each and every team hasbeen assigned a mentor for the duration of the hackathon. Judges will find outthe best three solutions and winners will be awarded.Mr. Kazi Hassan Robin, Founder and Global CEO of YEF Global was alsopresent at the opening ceremony. The opening ceremony was moderated by Mr.Mohammad Asif, Executive member of CTO Forum Bangladesh. Press release
