First official to go down in 2015 for corruption

BEIJING, Jan. 3 (NsNewsWire) — The battle against corruption continues in the new year. Assistant Foreign Minister Zhang Kunsheng has been dismissed, and is under investigation for discipline violation.

According to the website of Foreign Ministry, Zhang Kunsheng is no longer the director of the Protocol Department and Assistant Foreign Minister. He’s the first official to go down at national level in 2015, and he’s the first corruption case in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, reports Xinhua.

Meanwhile, an official at the Public Security Bureau in Guizhou Province in Southwest China is also under investigation for violation of discipline. Last year, Guizhou Province registered more than 44 hundred corruption cases.

They involved bribery, buying and selling official positions, and discipline violations in mineral resource exploration, land leasing and construction projects
