Bangladesh officials arrested on gold smuggling charges

DHAKA, Nov. 19 (NsNewsWire) — Three senior officials of Biman Bangladesh Airlines along with two others have been arrested on charge of smuggling gold through the country’s principal Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
Biman’s flight scheduling department officials — Emdad Hossain, Captain Abu Mohammad Aslam Shaheed and Tozammel Hossain were arrested from Dhaka on Tuesday night, Masudur Rahman, Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s deputy commissioner, told journalists Wednesday.
The two other detainees include Mahmudul Haque, a contractor of Biman Bangladesh, and Mahammad Harunur Rashid, a money exchange businessman.
