Going home on a train? Drink from Robi’s safe drinking water plants at eight stations

DHAKA, June 14 (NsNewsWire) — If you are set to embark on a train journey during this eid holidays, there is one less thing you need to worry about. Any train commuter would know how important it is to have access to pure drinking water during the train journey. As the long journey time bears heavily on the traveler, it is pure drinking water that eases the travel fatigue.

The leading digital service provider of the country, Robi, has set-up safe drinking water plants in eight major railway stations across the country.

These water plants are located in Kamalapur Railway Station, Dhaka Airport Railway Station, Chittagong Railway Station, Sylhet Railway Station, Khulna Railway Station, Rajshahi Railway Station, Mymensingh Railway Station and Mohonganj Railway Station.

These water plants have over the years been serving the travel weary commuters of Bangladesh Railway.

Throughout the Ramadan, people from all walks of life have thronged these water plants to perform ablution for prayer and filled their water bottles to support them through the travel. Commuters have also visited these places in large numbers while breaking fast during Ramadan.

Each of these water plants are dispensing 5,000 litres of pure drinking water per hour. Being a public place, these plants are evidently making a difference in ensuring easy access to pure drinking water. The water plants have separate sections for males and females to ensure convenience. Considering the special need of the physically challenged members of the society, the plant has a ramp built into it to provide easy access. Besides, it also has a special arrangement for necessary cleansing requirement for performing prayers.

The flow of pure drinking water coming through purifying units (Membrane & UV filter) has already earned the trust of the commuters travelling through the railway stations. Furthermore, the regular maintenance of water quality is ensured at the water plants thanks to periodic testing in the recognized test-laboratories of Bangladesh e.g. BUET, CUET, KUET, SUST and PWD.
