Hundreds rush to Hotel Radisson to see FIFA World Cup Trophy

Dhaka, Dec 18 (NsNewsWire) – Hundreds of enthusiastic people from all strata of life thronged Hotel Radisson to see the FIFA World Cup Trophy 2014 on Wednesday.

The visitors have not missed the chance taking a snap with the trophy. A different kind of pleasure is expressing from their eyes.

Kamal, 21, a student who came from Netrakona district, said ,“ I have come to see the glittering trophy and have a photograph with it.”

“It’s a matter of pride for me as I have got a lifetime opportunity to catch a glimpse of the trophy,” he added.

Tani, 10, a student of class V, who came with her parents from Uttara said, “ I’m very happy to witness the trophy as it was brought to Bangladesh for the first time in the history and I have become a part of it”.

The coveted world cup trophy reached in Dhaka Tuesday noon (Dec. 17) on a three day visit to Bangladesh from United Arab Emirates (UAE) on a Danish charted plane accompanied by FIFA delegates as part of its visit to 88 countries.

The trophy was kept open for visitors from 9 am to 6 pm on Wednesday and 9 am to 2 pm on Thursday.

Earlier in 2002 a replica of FIFA World Cup had toured Bangladesh.

According to media, Bangladesh is the first country in South Asia where the trophy was brought and after a three day tour to Bangladesh it will be taken to Bhutan, Nepal and India respectively.

Then the trophy will go to Thailand as part of its world-wide tour that will be end at the world cup host nation Brazil 2014.
