India supports war crimes trials in Bangladesh
Dhaka, Sept. 9 (NsNewsWire) — India on Friday said it supports the war crimes trials in Bangladesh under which perpetrators were being brought to justice.
“India has been supportive of a judicial process under the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) of Bangladesh to address the pending issue of justice for war crimes committed during the movement for the independence of Bangladesh in 1971,” External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup said in response to media queries, reports UNI.
He said the ICT process to bring the perpetrators of war crimes to justice has wide popular support in Bangladesh, although he said it is an internal issue of the neighboring country.
