Indian Navy Chief To Visit Bangladesh

DHAKA, Feb.  20 (NsNewsWire) — Chief of the Naval Staff, Indian Navy, Admiral RK Dhowan, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, ADC will pay a goodwill visit to Bangladesh from 22-26 February, 2015 at the invitation of the Chief of Naval Staff of Bangladesh Navy, Vice Admiral M Farid Habib, NBP, ndc.psc.

  He will be accompanied by his wife Mrs. Minu Dhowan, President of Indian Navy Wives Welfare Association, said a statement of Indian High Commission in Dhaka on Friday.

        To coincide with the visit of the Naval Chief, Indian Navy ship ‘INS Ranjit’ will pay a goodwill visit to Chittagong Port.  The ‘INS Ranjit’ is the third of the five Rajput class destroyers, commissioned on 24 November 1983.  During his visit, the Indian Naval Chief will present two Enterprise Class boats to the Bangladesh Naval Academy, Chittagong.

        Admiral RK Dhowan’s visit is part of the tradition of regular high level exchanges between the Armed Forces of both the countries and will enhance friendship and bilateral cooperation between the two neighbouring navies.
