Jamaat calls strike for Tuesday, Wednesday

DHAKA, April 6 (NsNewsWire) — Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami party has called a 48-hour strike strike from Tuesday morning after an apex court bench Monday morning upheld its previous verdict on its leader Muhammad Kamaruzzaman, rejecting his plea for reviewing death penalty for crimes against humanity during the country’s war of independence in 1971.

The declaration was made in a press statement.
