JU’s annual bird fair on Feb. 5

JU, Savar, Jan. 27 (NsNewsWire) — The 14th Jahangirnagar University or JU bird fair will be held on its campus on Febr. 5.

Fair Convener Kamrul Hasan, also associate professor of the university’s Department of Zoology, confirmed NsNewsWire about the annual event aimed at raising awareness of bird conservation.

JU Vice Chancellor Professor  Farzana Islam is expected to inaugurate the fair at Mohua Tola adjacent to the Bangla department premises.

JU Zoology department in collaboration with Wildlife Rescue Center has been organzing the day-long fair since 2001  with a view to raising mass awareness about conserving birds.
The fair also features inter-university bird identification quiz competition, exhibition of photographs on birds, children’s painting competition on birds and prize-giving ceremony.

The fair is expected to enthrall thousands of birdwatchers and avian enthusiasts of all ages like previous occasions.
