Pakistan citizen held with huge Indian rupees in Bangladesh airport‏

Bangladesh Customs officials Sunday arrested a Pakistani citizen along with around 5 million Indian rupees at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport Dhaka Sunday, an official said.
The customs official who preferred to be unnamed said the Pakistani national Abdur Rahim, 35, about a week earlier came to Bangladesh from Qatar via Dubai.
Late last night he came to the airport to receive his luggage, said the official.
Apprehending his suspicious movement, the customs officers searched his luggage and recovered the currencies.
In the face of interrogation, the Pakistani citizen, Rahim confessed that he smuggled the Indian currencies into Bangladesh.
Sources said most of the time only the carriers are being caught, but the real smugglers remain behind the scene.
They said organized gangs of local smugglers having link with their foreign sidekicks are increasingly using Bangladesh as a route for the illegal transportation of gold, foreign currencies, contraband drug and medicines. Enditem
