Renowned Philanthropist Abul Kashem Laid to Rest In His Home Village

DHAKA, Dec. 4 (NsNewsWire) — Hundreds of people bid a final farewell to their hero Abul Kashem, who was buried at his ancestral home in Chandpur last week.

Family members and dignitaries joined together Wednesday to bid farewell to the greater Noakhali region’s renowned philanthropist in a Salat-e-Janaza or Namaze Janaza ( Funeral prayer) attended by some hundreds of people.

The funeral prayer at his village home premises was a final chance for those who knew him best in his childhood village to say goodbye.

They expressed deep sorrow of the sudden death of Engineer Kashem, praying to Allah Almighty to bestow his peace and mercy upon him, and inspire his family with patience and solace.

Abul Kashem, who passed away on Nov. 24 due to heart failure after dedicating a large portion of his life to humanitarian and philanthropic works in Dhaka and his greater Noakhali district, was mourned by hundreds in prayers in Dhaka and his village Mokter Bari (home) premises.

After about three decades in Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation, he retired as general manager couple of years earlier.

He had then joined the country’s leading National Life Insurance Company Limited as the head of engineering.

After several funeral prayers in Dhaka, his body was taken to his village home on Nov. 26.

The icon’s death was described as “a big loss for the entire greater Noakhali region.”

The man of great deeds was a role model for humanitarian workers and philanthropists.

He always kept his philanthropy as fiercely secretive and he avoided media spotlight.

Noakhali has lost one of its great sons with the demise of Kashem who dedicated his life to serve humanity and help poor people around the district.

The man of calm who was also like a huge shady tree will be surely missed for his decades of great philanthropic activities which paved the way for many to get rid of poverty and change their fates for a developed life.
