Robi brings Train ticketing solution

Dhaka, Jan.  7 (NsNewsWire) — Robi as customer centric operator has ensured ultimate comfort in purchasing train ticket with the introduction of its mobile phone based train ticketing solution recently. This ticketing solution is the latest addition in the growing portfolio of bdtickets.com. Robi believes that this unique digital service will be instrumental in realizing Digital Bangladesh.

Purchasing train tickets has often been seen as an inconvenient experience. Traveling to the railway station and standing in the long queue especially during the holiday seasons is a common phenomenon. But the situation is soon going to be a thing of the past with the introduction of Robi’s convenient Train ticketing solution.

Robi subscribers need to first book for the train tickets by dialing *131# from their mobile phones. Then through a user friendly process the users will be requested to provide the journey date, preferred start station to start the journey, preferred destination station, the train, ticket class and the preferred ticket option combination.

At the end of the ticket booking process the user will instantly receive an SMS with the booking code stating the amount to be paid for completing the purchasing process. Within 30 minutes of receiving the SMS, the user needs to make the payment at any of the 6500 Robi Cash Points in the country. The user only needs to show the SMS to the agent at the Cash Point.

Following the payment the user will receive an e-Ticket number in SMS. This SMS needs to be shown at the railway station (computer counter) to collect the paper-based ticket. Please collect your paper-based ticket at least 1 hour before the departure of train.

A service charge of 20 taka will be applicable for each seat purchased. This mobile based train ticketing solution will be available for 7 days a week (Between 9:00 AM to 10:00PM every-day). Customers can purchase advance Five (05) days ticket before journey day. But the train tickets purchased is not transferrable to others and only two transactions to a single mobile number in a month are allowed.
