Robi Career Carnival held at Islamic University of Technology (IUT)
DHAKA, Dec. 2 (NsNewsWire) — Robi Axiata Limited, one of the leading mobile phone operators has organized a day long program named “Robi Career Carnival” at Islamic University of Technology (IUT) today. Robi organized this program to make the students of IUT aware of the career opportunities available with the company and the industry at large.
Robi had set up Career Booth inside the campus where information regarding internship opportunities as well as regular employment scopes was informed to the students. Besides, IUT students were also able to drop their CV in the career booth.
In the career carnival the IUT students were introduced to Robi with a detailed brief on its business operation. Students were also made aware of the Axiata Group Berhad (The parent company of Robi Axiata Limited) based in Malaysia and its global footprint. Career at Robi session highlighted the job opportunity available at Robi. IUT students were also informed of the possibility of overseas posting opportunities in any of the operating company of Axiata Group Berhad spread across Asia.
In the “Meet the Alumni” session the IUT students got the opportunity to interact with the Robi officials who graduated from IUT. Robi officials discussed in detail their learning from their respective career with Robi. IUT Alumni members also informed the IUT students on the future prospects of the mobile telecom industry and advised them on how they could prepare themselves to take the opportunity.
In addition, the need for having the right attitude and behavioral traits were emphasized in the session. With a very keen participation from the students the session became very lively. IUT students were encouraged to apply for the Graduate Trainee positions available at Robi. At the end of the Capacity Building Session a quiz contest was held and the winners were distributed prizes at the end of the program. Besides, as part of the on campus recruitment initiative, Robi will organize a written test for the final year students and for the recent graduates of IUT on 3rd December 2014.

Sharmin Sultan, Vice President, Resourcing along with the faculty members of IUT was present. Masudur Rahman, Vice President, Integrated Network Planning and few other IUT alumni currently working in Robi were present during the event.
