Robi launches international airtime recharge service

Dhaka, Jan. 28 (NsNewsWire) — Robi Axiata Limited, the country’s fastest growing mobile operator, has launched international airtime recharge services recently.

Robi Digital Services in partnership with Digicon Global Services Limited introduced the International Airtime Recharge service. The launch of this service has opened up the opportunity for thousands of Bangladeshis living in Australia, Malaysia, Middle East and other countries to recharge over 26 million Robi subscribers of Robi, anytime.

The recharge amount conducted overseas in the local currency will be credited to a Robi subscriber account instantly. The retailer informs the recharger of the equivalent amount in Bangladesh Taka before the transaction is carried out. The equivalent recharge amount is also indicated on the printed receipt that the recharger receives after the transaction is completed. The service will enable prepaid mobile credit transfers from one country to another simply through SMS or USSD.

Through a quick an easy process an overseas sender can securely recharge a Robi subscriber account. The sender only needs to go to a recharge outlet, pay the amount and specify the Robi mobile number to the retailer. Both the sender and receiver are notified through SMS immediately through Robi’s and Digicon’s effective network as soon as the transaction has been confirmed in the system.

Digicon has partnerships with several global organizations for carrying-out the service in other countries. The airtime service has been in effect since 1 January 2014.
