Robi promotes trees on Environment Day

DHAKA, June 8 (NsNewsWire) — Robi has observed the World Environment Day by organizing a session on “Green Dhaka” initiative at the company’s corporate office recently. The Robi employees were urged, in the session, to plant trees to ensure a greener and cleaner environment as well as contributing in combatting the adverse impacts of the ongoing climate change phenomenon.

Highlighting the importance of tree plantation, the company organized a photography contest to demonstrate the employees’ passion and love for a greener environment. As per the contest guideline, all participants in the contest had pledged to plant at least one tree by the end of this year. The winning photographers were recognized with a tree sapling.

The “Sobuj Dhaka” campaign team members were present at the session to make the Robi officials aware of the looming environmental problems that the city faces for the lack of greenery. They shared many scientific data during the session to emphasize on their concern.

“Sobuj Dhaka” also enlightened the Robi officials with a number of solutions (i.e. home gardening, roof gardening) to address this situation.

environmental campaign.
