Shakib to captain Bangladesh in first ODI against Pakistan

Bangladesh’s iconic allrounder Shakib Al Hasan will be doing captain’s duty for his team in the first ODI against Pakistan on April 17 since regular skipper Mashrafe Mortaza is serving a one-match suspension.

Mortaza was suspended for an ODI due to his team’s slow over rate in the ICC World Cup quarter-final against India in Melbourne recently, which was the second such incident after he was earlier fined for the same offence, reports http://ibnlive.in.com/.

Bangladesh Cricket Board President Mr. Nazmul Hasan confirmed that Shakib will be the stand-in captain for the first ODI only.

Shakib is currently in India with his Indian Premier League franchise Kolkata Knight Rides, who will be defending their title in IPL 8 beginning Wednesday.
