Xinhua photographer Shariful Islam wins CRI-Chinese embassy-Bangladesh National Museum photo contest

12189855_532496733580455_5837197474800956293_nDHAKA, Nov. 5 (NsNewsWire) — Xinhua Photojournalist Shariful Islam has won one of the two special prizes in a photo contest which was organized to celebrate mark the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bangladesh and China.

China Radio International, Chinese Embassy in Dhaka and Bangladesh National Museum organized the photo contest.

Apart from two special prizes, authorities Thursday also announced three 1st prizes, six 2nd prizes and nine 3rd prizes from “portrait”,  “landscape” and “human interest” section in the prize giving ceremony.

M Abdul Mannan, state minister for finance and planning, Chen Shauang, cultural counsellor at Chinese embassy in Dhaka, Cao Yanhua, deputy director of CRI’s Bengali Department, and Faizul Latif, director general of Bangladesh National Museum, Thursday handed over the prizes to five winners including Xinhua Photojournalist Shariful Islam who won one of the two special prizes.

Another special prizewinner is Zhang Sui, who is a Chinese government official.

Special prize winners will get Beijing-Dhaka plane tickets.

Cao Yanhua, deputy director of CRI’s Benglai Department, said another prize giving ceremony will be held soon in Beijing for other Chinese and Bangladesh winners who are living and working there.

A six-day exhibition of winning images also started at National Museum in capital Dhaka on Thursday following a prize giving ceremony.
