First batch of 42 Bangladeshi students departs for Pakistan on Iqbal scholarships

The first batch of 42 Bangladeshi students was seen off by Pakistan High Commissioner to Bangladesh Imran Haider at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, Dhaka today as they departed for Pakistan to pursue higher education under the Second Phase of Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor.

The students have been awarded fully funded Allama Muhammad Iqbal Scholarships to pursue Undergraduate, Master’s and PhD programmes at leading Pakistani universities under the Second Phase of scholarship programme, said a Pakistan High Commission statement received Thursday.
Last year, 74 Bangladeshi students joined leading Pakistani universities under Phase 1 of the programme.
High Commissioner Imran Haider wished the students success in their educational endeavors. He expressed confidence that they would contribute to the bright future of their country and serve as a bridge between the people of Pakistan and Bangladesh.
