China says Bangladesh statesmen to hammer out solution

DHAKA, Dec. 12 (nsnewswire) — China Thursday said Bangladesh statesmen to make the best use of their wisdom to hammer out a solution acceptable to all.

The Chinese embassy in Dhaka in a statement Thursday said, “China is of view that it is high time for Bangladesh statesmen to make the best use of their wisdom to hammer out a solution acceptable to all, which is surely beneficial to this country and its people, as well as regional stability and development at large.”

“China is worried about escalation of political tension in this country. However, China is encouraged by the dialogue momentum between representatives of the ruling party Awami League and its opposition BNP at the auspices of the United Nations.”

It further said, “As a close neighbor and friend, China considers a growing and stable Bangladesh is in the interest of China. The new Chinese leadership attaches great importance to developing relations with Bangladesh and views Bangladesh as a natural partner as well as an important direction for China’s expanding the opening-up to the west. ”

“To that end, His Excellency, Ambassador Luo Zhaohui, China’s special envoy of Foreign Ministry, has paid a visit to Bangladesh on 11-12 December 2013. During the visit, Ambassador Luo called on the Honorable Prime Minister Madam Sheikh Hasina, Opposition leader, H.E. Madam Khaleda Zia and Jatiya Party Chairman, H.E. Mr. Hussain Muhammad Ershad, and met other high-ranking officials from government and major political parties.”

“The mission of Ambassador Luo’s visit aims to promote bilateral friendship and all-round cooperation, especially to strengthen coordination with Bangladesh on the construction of BCIM Economic Corridor. Besides, Ambassador Luo also learned about the current political situation in Bangladesh.”
